Teams msi 64 bit - teams msi 64 bit -

Hi All Bit of a complex question. Teams machine wide installer has been installed on all the workstations, using MSI installer.

They are all 32bit. O is also 32bit. I am hearing O has teams included. Now, some users are wanting to switch to 64bit office. So to be clean, i thought i would switch Teams to 64bit as well. However, this is proving to be a bit trivial. I was hoping that while uinstall all components of 32bit office using the XML config, Teams will be uninstalled as well, but this is not to be the case.

And O has now been reinstalled as 64bit version. Now the second problem. Is this true? When logged in, Teams did startup, as 64bit.

Now, there is another user on the same PC, who has been using Teams on 32bit before. The second user logs in to the PC, and Teams is still 32bit.

Has not been changed to 64bit. If this is the case, is there a better approach to do this automatically? Attachments: Up to 10 attachments including images can be used with a maximum of 3.

Important: Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur. DavidMoon ,. Thank you for the reply. What i am aiming to do is, as part of the x86 to x64 conversion process, uninstall the x86 version of TEAMS which was installed by MSI , and let O reinstall x64 bit version of Office and Teams together. This will only happen to handful of users.. However, i would like to know what is the correct method of the uninstall, so i can script this. I will use SCCM to deploy this. Is this correct? If i remove these folders, then do i lose chat history? I would like to retain the chat history if possible.

So once the x64 conversion is done, in theory i just need to logoff and relogin with the user, and TEAMS x64 should reinstall to the users profile. Question 2. No, the chat history is saved in user's Exchange Online mailbox. So, don't worry about it. If my suggestion helps, please feel free to accept it as answer to benefit people with the same doubt.
